This amazing project on Block Island consisted of a large addition and a pool house designed to compliment the small existing home.
The Abrams family animal farm is a favorite stop for families (mine included) while visiting Block Island. Working with Seth Draper who manages the farm that his grandfather started, we collaborated to create a barn to house a variety of animal species (including birds, monkeys, and Alpaca) as well as for public use.
As part of an overall renovation, the owners of the 1661 wanted to reconfigure the space in their dining room, where their very popular brunch is served. The objective was to add a new brunch serving bar as well as a bar for alcoholic beverages to be served for the first time at this historic Inn, without disrupting the dining area.

Its all about the details and this large addition and renovation by Block Island Housewrights was no exception. Lots of work went into designing a wet bar, fold out murphy beds, built in cabinetry, and the travertine fireplace with flanking cabinets.

One of my favorite new construction projects to date, the boat sales office and second floor residence at Ocean Avenue Marina combined elements of the existing marine repair facility structure on the marina property, as well as traditional New England style with a contemporary retail space.
